For those staying in and around Kyoto City, I would like to share with you a special place to relax that I really didn't want to tell anyone.

For those staying in and around Kyoto City, I would like to share with you a special place to relax that I really didn’t want to tell anyone.

From JR Ishiyama Station, which is only 13 minutes away from JR Kyoto Station by train, this Shiga Prefecture Nango Fisheries Center is located along the Setagawa River, which runs into Lake Biwa for 15 minutes by bus.

The bus from JR Ishiyama Station to Nango runs every 20 minutes, so it is very convenient. By the way, from JR Ishiyama Station, there is also a bus to the famous Miho Museum.

If you get off the bus and walk across the Nango Araizeki, you’ll be right there.
The Seta River, the only river that flows out of Lake Biwa, has a family of wigeons
A female mallard ducks at a leisurely pace.
Aythya fuligula has a topknot like a samurai.

Created in 1966 by the Shiga Prefectural Fisheries Union, this freshwater fish theme park is a genuine “off the beaten track” that is almost unknown to foreign tourists. You won’t meet any other travelers here.
The catchphrase of this facility is “Paradise where you can play with fish,”

A father who was taken by his parents when he was a child takes his own child… Nostalgic!
The entrance fee is 400 yen and the price is retrospective and nice
Around 4000 yen per person is enough for the full day, including the cost of meals at the restaurant.

Here we buy the center’s “specialty” giant carp bait (wheat-gluten bread stick).  It is 150 yen!
You should definitely buy it.
Hey, it’s time for breakfast~
We’ve been waiting! As if to say, devouring, devouring… this is fun for adults!

There is also a rainbow trout pond designed for lure and fly fishing. It is also fun to grab Sweet fish and Rainbow trout in hot summer. The grab pond uses very cold  spring water, so it is a great attraction for hot summer vacation. Of course, you can enjoy grilled salted Sweet fish and Rainbow trout you catch.

If you love lures and fly fishing, try this pond

Those who are not fond of eating fish should also be relieved. At the restaurant “Sai” near the entrance, you can enjoy the best hashed beef sauce omelet rice which boasts Google Maps review at 4.3. Also you should not miss the Fisheries Museum near the entrance. You can see traditional fishing methods exhibitions and precious old fishing gear in Lake Biwa here.

We gave rainbow trout fishing a try. So easy to catch as they are hungry.
The caught fish is cooked with charcoal and eaten by the purchase method (50 grams for 100 yen).
(Two trout would be nice.)

They carefully grill rainbow trout over a charcoal fire. Surprisingly it was so delicious.

In the large aquarium in the museum, a huge black bus is waiting to say hello to you. Of course, the black bass was introduced from North America in 1925, not native to Japan, but it adapted beautifully to Lake Biwa’s environment, and in the past, the world record of 73.5 cm, 22 pounds, 4 ounces (10.12 kg) has been caught. Why don’t you come to Nango Fisheries Center where both people who are not interested in fish can enjoy it in the same way? I strongly recommend you enjoy a different world where you can get there in just 50 minutes from the crowded Kyoto station.

ブThe world record for black bass was set at Lake Biwa. Huge bass grows here.
